Dr. Morgan Matile Wilcox, DVM
Animal Health Center of Leawood is a dream turned reality for Morgan. Since she could speak, Morgan has wanted to be a veterinarian. She was excited to start a veterinary hospital where patients and clients would be treated like family.
Morgan Matile Wilcox grew up in Bucyrus, Kansas. She attended Blue Valley High School. Her participation in Johnson County 4-H fostered her love of animals from a very young age. She was able to raise cattle, hogs, and sheep. During high school and college, she spent her breaks from school working in different veterinary clinics and animal shelters to learn as much as she could about veterinary medicine.
Dr. Wilcox graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. In addition, she graduated magna cum laude from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM. After graduating from veterinary school in 2015, Dr. Wilcox worked as an associate veterinarian in the Kansas City area until the opening of AHC Leawood in 2020.

Dr. Nancy McClain DVM
Dr. Nancy McClain's love for veterinary medicine began in grade school when she adopted a kitten the family named Tequila. They named the kitten due to the way she walked and was called Tiki most of the time! Unfortunately, she had a severe neurologic disease that required extra care at home. Though Tiki only lived three years, her short life significantly impacted Dr. McClain's and how she practices today.
Nancy grew up in St. Louis as the youngest of three girls. She attended St. Joseph's Academy and later went to MU to pursue a degree in biology. She graduated from MU with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Nancy lives in Brookside with her husband, Patrick, and their two children, Henry and Nellie, and Stella, the goofy Boxer mix. Nancy enjoys spending time with friends and family, working on her home, playing tennis, and jogging with Stella when not at work. Her particular areas of interest include preventative medicine behavior and client education. |
Meet our Newest Team Member, Dr. Misty Yancey DVM
Dr. Misty Yancey, a Kansas Native, graduated from Eckerd College with a B.S. in Marine Science. Knowing she wanted to work with animals, she then spent time working at the Audubon Bird of Prey Center in Orlando. It was here she found her love for veterinary medicine as she found working with the injured raptors, owls, and eagles to be immensely rewarding.
After graduating from Kansas State University with her DVM in 2015, Dr. Yancey practiced as an associate veterinarian in the suburbs of Chicago and then in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In addition to her numerous years of experience working with dogs and cats, Dr. Yancey has a passion for working with exotics such as reptiles and small mammals. Misty lives with her husband Ben, her two daughters, Luna and Aurora; 3 cats, Jill, Lockett, and Dobby; a coonhound mix Jimmy and numerous saltwater fish. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching the Kansas City Chiefs and K-State Football, and taking Jimmy on long walks. She also enjoys painting, crocheting, and baking in her spare time. |
